First Visit

Your initial appointment will consist of a Comprehensive New Patient Examination, a thorough review of your dental/medical history and any necessary radiographs.  All new patients are required to have a Full Mouth Series of radiographs unless a current and readable copy is forwarded to our office prior to your appointment time. An individual treatment plan will be developed based upon our doctor’s examination and your individual needs.

Based on your current dental condition, we will determine if we are able to complete the cleaning of your teeth at this first visit.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your appointment:

  • Your previous dental x-rays if applicable. Upon completion of a record release, your current films may be forwarded to our office using our secure email: documents@pinecitydental.com .
  • A list of your current medications.
  • A drivers license or photo ID.

If you have dental insurance, please bring the current card. This will allow us to properly process your claims.

IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 at the initial visit.

If you have any medical conditions that may be of concern prior to dental procedures, please alert the office (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves, knee or other joint replacements, rheumatic fever, etc.)  or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.) and require medication prior to dental cleanings (i.e. antibiotics for pre-medication).

Digital X-rays

Our office utilizes DEXIS digital radiography. This state of the art x-ray system allows us to take the necessary radiographs to diagnose your dental condition. Your previous dentist may have taken radiographs in the past. Any current x-rays can be forwarded to our office either via mail or e-mail. Please fill out a release of record with your previous dental office, so these reach our office in a timely manner. It is vital that we have diagnostic quality radiographs. If we do not have proper radiographs forwarded, new ones will be taken. Generally your first visit to our office will be for a Comprehensive New Patient Examination with a Full Mouth Series of radiographs. Our treating dentist will determine what radiographs they will need for proper diagnosis.
